Bell Bike Helmets

Bell is one of the most prominent brands in the bike helmet industry. Bell Sports made one of the first modern bike helmets in the '70s, based on their previous work in producing helmets for auto and motorcycle racing. They used (and still use an improved for of) expanded polystyrene. The motorcycle/racing and bike helmet areas of Bell split in 1991 to allow each more room for growth. Today, decades after they first produced what we consider the first modern bike helmet, it is not uncommon to see Bell helmets racing up and down a busy street on the heads of commuters, messengers, and joy-riders.
